What can we help you with?
The treatment of breast cancer is a multidisciplinary matter. Doctors and other healthcare providers from different disciplines are jointly responsible for treatment: gynecology, surgery, radiotherapy (radiation), medical oncology (chemotherapy and/or hormonal therapy). The medical-technical services are responsible for the precise diagnosis of breast tumors. By centralizing the treatment process in the breast centre, we can guarantee smooth cooperation of all these services. In this way, we also make it easier for you as a patient.
In a weekly meeting, the various specialists consult on diagnosis, treatment and possible follow-up treatment for patients with both benign and malignant breast tumors. This shortens the time span between examinations, diagnosis and treatment. This benefits the patient's recovery.
The breast nurse is the confidant of patients with a breast tumor. Together with the medical and nursing team, she is responsible for providing informative and emotional support from diagnosis to post-treatment.
The breast nurse accompanies the patient (and family) from the beginning, including during hospitalization, both before and after the procedure. She explains the surgery and its possible physical and psychological consequences. Even after discharge from the hospital you can contact her with all your questions, doubts and concerns. Even if you just need a listening ear. Are you eligible for follow-up treatment? Then the breast nurse offers psychological support and provides more information about the treatment and possible side effects.
