We are pleased to welcome Dr Ilona Liesenborghs as a new ophthalmologist in our hospital.
She will join our current corps of physicians as an attending ophthalmologist with specific interests in strabology (squinting), pediatric ophthalmology and glaucoma. She will focus on squint, eyelid and cataract surgery.
After obtaining a master's degree in medicine from Maastricht University, she further specialized and gained valuable experience within the field at Maastricht University Medical Center. In addition, she successfully completed a PhD with the topic: "Genetic and molecular pathogenesis of primary open angle glaucoma and corticosteroid-induced glaucoma - Applications of research with omics data in ophthalmology".
