Visiting hours

General visitation

Visiting hours are between 15h and 20h. Visits are daily possible.

Different visiting hours apply at the departments below.

The mothers partner (or one other specified person) is always welcome during the entire stay and can stay overnight if you have a single room. On a double room there is no nightly stay possible.

Aside from the partner (or one other specified person) and the children who live with the mother, there can be 4 other visitors during the visiting hours.

Visiting hours on the maternity ward are from 17h to 19h. Please keep the visit short, max. 1 hour, to give the mother the rest she needs.

Parents and resident children are always welcome and may enter the room where the baby lays, provided the following guidelines:

  • Children up to 12 years of age must always wear a mouth mask (avoid spread of chickenpox ).
  • Do parents or children have cold symptoms? A mouth mask is required or ideally the visit is postponed.
  • Children are not allowed to hold the baby.

Grandparents are welcome every day between: 16:00h - 16:30h or 19:00h - 19.30h and may enter the room where the baby lies if they respect the following guidelines:

  • A maximum of 2 grandparents may visit per day, only on the day of birth an exception can be made and two grandparent pairs may visit (one pair at 16:00h  and another pair at 19:00h)
  • Grandparents must always be accompanied by one or both parents of the baby.
  • Grandparents are not allowed to hold the baby.
  • Grandparents who have cold symptoms should postpone their visit to a later time.

When more than one baby is admitted in one room, arrangements will be made on the ward to ensure that no more than two visitors are present at the same time.

Further guidelines for everyone during the visit time at neonatology:

  • Do not remove the baby from the heated crib or incubator unless in consultation with the midwife.
  • Let the visit proceed calmly and as much as possible in silence so as not to disturb the baby's rest.
  • Extra attention to general hygiene and hand hygiene is very important at the neonatology department.

During day care, both parents may accompany their child. Outside of that, the department's normal visiting hours apply: from 14h30 to 20h30.

To visit a patient in the stroke unit, you can visit with a maximum of two visitors between 15h and 16h or between 18h and 19h.

To ensure necessary rest, short visits are provided with a maximum of three people (over 12 years old) from 13h to 13h30 and from 18h to 18h30.

For a day admission in the internal day hospital, an accompanying person may bring and pick up the patient to/from the entrance of the ward. Exceptions are possible, if the patient is a minor (-18 years), needy or incapacitated, the patient may bring one companion.

In the surgical day hospital, one visitor/escort is allowed to come with you during your day admission for surgery.

Out-of-hours hospital access

Between 9 p.m. and 6:45 a.m., the hospital can only be accessed through the emergency department entrance. The emergency department is located at the back of the hospital, please follow the signage. For security and privacy reasons, this entrance is closed, therefore you must sign in here via the intercom.

Do you leave the hospital during this time period? Then you must use the night exit in block A (radiology/rehabilitation). Signage is provided for this from the entrance hall. If you sign in via the intercom, the door will be opened for you.
